Hybridized by renowned rose breeder Keith Zary, who crossed the floribunda Bridal Pink and an unnamed seedling. The result was a surprisingly heat tolerant, merrily striped beauty as fresh and lovely as a summer day, as cheerful as a sun umbrella, just made for poolside containers and sun-soaked borders. What could be more enchanting?
The long-lasting blooms open from pointed, ovoid buds and are packed with 25 to 30 petals displaying a base of soft rosy pink, overlaid with stripes of all sizes in soft duck-yellow and primrose, each distinctively different, but all beautiful. When fully open, flowers reach 4 inches wide. They arise quite generously on 16- to 20-inch stems, usually singly but occasionally in small clusters, as if offering a ready-made bouquet.
Cabana is a perpetual bloomer, so it is seldom without color in season and continuously fills the summer garden with a rich spicy aroma, making it a superb choice for the patio, deck, or other area of the garden where guests gather.
